Ruth - Part II {An End Times’ Prophetic Perspective!}
Wednesday Apr 17, 2024
Wednesday Apr 17, 2024
Since Israel's return to her land, the Book of Ruth is now seen with even deeper prophetic significance than ever before. It is far more than a picture of Christ and His redemptive love for His mostly-Gentile "Bride," the Church. There are two additional "love stories" in this account; they are between Naomi and Ruth (i.e., Israel and the Church) and Boaz and Naomi (Christ's love and eventual restoration of Israel). Find out the importance of Leviticus 23:22 - a verse that does not seem to belong in the middle of God's instructions regarding the seven Jewish feast days; yet it does fit - plus it connects us to the Book of Ruth! SO MUCH NEW INSIGHT TO AN OLD, FAMILIAR STORY - YOU WILL LOVE THIS STUDY!

There is so much more to be "gleaned" than a romantic, redemptive "love story" between Boaz and Ruth and how their relationship pictures Christ and the Church! As history has progressed, new revelation from an old book has come to light!

From the well-known account of the circumstances surrounding the conception and birth of the Lord Jesus, we discuss interesting truths not usually included in the re-telling of "The Christmas Account". It is important for everyone to know about "The Jeconian Curse" (Jeremiah 22:30) and how the Lord Jesus ALONE qualifies to be Israel's rightful King. It is also important to know the announcement that broke 400 years of inter-Testimental silence and how the two people directly involved in that announcement have Hebrew names which together remind the world that the Lord remembers His covenant promises!
We discuss how important it was that Herod chose the Roman method of taxation rather than the Jewish method, for otherwise Jesus would not have fulfilled the Messianic prophecy of Micah 5:2. The virgin birth; the significance of the glad tidings being given to Bethlehem shepherds; the two elderly witnesses of Christ, Simeon and Anna; the interesting details about the Magi from the East and their knowledge regarding the curious "star" that appeared in the sky, disappeared, and then reappeared again and how it is connected to Balaam; the fascinating dual-fulfillment prophecy of Isaiah 60:3, 6 - these are all subjects discussed in this lesson. You will have something NEW to teach this year at Christmas!

Life of Christ Lesson 48: The Prayer Promise! {Ask, Seek, Knock!}
Monday Jul 03, 2023
Monday Jul 03, 2023
Are you frustrated with the quality of your Christian life? Do you seriously desire to be a Beatitude-type believer? Do you long to have the righteous motive in your service for the Lord? Have you longed to rid yourself of some harboring bitterness, vengefulness, or maybe a critical spirit? Have you wondered about ways you could and should be investing in heavenly treasure? Have you longed to have greater spiritual discernment? Do you truly want to fully trust God about your needs and your future - and cease worrying? If your answer to any or all of these questions is "Yes," then listen to Jesus' command-prayer-promise, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" (Matthew 7:7).
God will not do for us, apart from prayer, that which He has promised to do for us only through prayer! Though He is Sovereign, that does not mean we receive all the blessings He has for us and desires to give us if we fail to ask for them - "ye have not, because ye ask not" (James 4:2b)! Did you realize that a lot of the frustrations of our Christian lives are the result of not having turned our frustration-energy into prayer-energy!

Life of Christ Lesson 44: How to Pray Effectively - Part II
Friday Jun 30, 2023
Friday Jun 30, 2023
To be effective in our prayer lives so God is honored and pleased by our prayers, we need to fulfill certain Christian "responsibilities". In this second lesson on the Lord's "Perfect Prayer Pattern" from His "Sermon on the Mount". Whereas the first three petitions of the Lord's prayer pattern deal with exalting God, His name, His Kingdom, and His will, the last three petitions (6:11-13) have to do with us (the believers). We discuss these petitions under the headings of (1) or present provision, (2) for past pardon, and (3) for future protection (from temptation and evil).
We also discuss the closing doxology of the prayer ("For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen"), as well as the postscript on the subject of forgiveness found in verses 14 and 15. That postscript has upset a lot of Christians over the centuries, for they think Jesus was saying a person's savlational forgiveness is conditional upon his own forgiveness of others. That is not what He was teaching, and we explain the meaning of those verses in this lesson.

Life of Christ Lesson 43: How to Pray Effectively - Part I
Thursday Jun 29, 2023
Thursday Jun 29, 2023
Prayer is perhaps the single greatest activity in which the human soul can engage, for in prayer we come face-to-face with God. Prayer is our golden opportunity to give God the opportunity to manifest His power, majesty, love, and providence to His beloved children. Although prayer is one of the most vital aspects of the Christian life, most of us feel it is the area in which we are the weakest. The disciples of Christ obviously felt this way, too, which is why they asked Him to teach them to pray. Thus, He gave them instruction and guidance for proper, effective prayer in Matthew 6:7-15 (part of "The Sermon on the Mount").
First, Jesus spoke about the errors of ineffective prayer (vanity prayers, valueless prayers, and verbose prayers), before He then taught about the essentials for effect prayer (having right relationships, with God and others; having right responsibilites, and making right requests - which is discussed in Part II of this study).

This lesson is on the last chapter of Revelation, which is the very last chapter of the inspired Word of God. In Revelation 21 (Lesson #46), we discussed the Apostle John's description of the eternal beauties of our future home in the New Jerusalem. In chapter 22, we are allowed to enter (through John's eyes) into the heart of the Holy City of Heaven itself, where we are given a brief, enticing glance into the splendors that await every believer in Christ Jesus (the Promised Seed of the woman of Genesis 3:14 - see podcast lesson entitled "The Gospel Seed").
You do NOT want to neglect knowing "the end of the story" (as Paul Harvey used to say)! Remember the special blessing for the one who reads and heeds the Book of Revelation given in chapter 1, verse 3? Guess what? There is another promised blessing for the one who keeps the sayings of the prophecy of Revelation in chapter 22, verse 7, which means we can dogmatically state that if you hear this message with "ears of faith," you will be blessed!

Revelation Lesson 46: Heaven! All Things New - Part I
Monday Feb 13, 2023
Monday Feb 13, 2023
This is the first of two lessons about the climax of God's entire purpose for creation. The fantastic, glorious final two chapters of the Bible unveil something of the wonders and majesties of the place called "Heaven," where all who have believed on the Saviour, Jesus Christ, will spend the endless ages of eternity. Many people (if not most) have misconceptions about Heaven; those misconceptions will be corrected in these two lessons as we consider what the Architect and "Carpenter" of Heaven Himself has to say about the magnificence of that LITERAL place on the map of God.
Learn about the New Jerusalem, the New Blessings (i.e. no more tears), the New Temple, the New Light, and the New Purity of a place more stable, more secure, and more permanent than this earth we presently know.
In my own Mother's final days on earth, she asked me to play these two studies on Heaven for her over and over again. As she listened, a smile would come upon her face, despite her pain, and she would point her finger upward. She knew Jesus, and she had the confidence He wants all His children to have about the place He has prepared for us. "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him" (I Corinthians 2:9)!!
This lesson is found in written form in our "Caldwell Commentary" series - "Revelation Vol. 2" (available through www.scripturetruth.com).
